About the exhibition

The Creative Cities in Pakistan exhibition is now open and will be on display until 26 May 2017. The exhibition is profiling traditional artefacts from five cities in Pakistan - Multan, Peshawar, Gilgit, Hyderabad and Quetta. It is the result of a research report exploring what sorts of intervention could be successful in supporting artisans and artistic communities, and in empowering them to contribute to economic and social development. Featuring carpets, instruments, jewellery, shoes, music, film, television clips and more, this is a celebration of Pakistani handicrafts and will encourage attendees to consider how traditional skills could be leveraged to provide further opportunities for artisans and their communities.

Dates

The exhibition will be on display for public from 5 April to 26 May 2017 at the British Council, 10 Spring Gardens, London. To book tours please email Elizabeth Bracegirdle (Elizabeth.Bracegirdle@britishcouncil.org)
