• Members are requested to be respectful and courteous towards others. The libraries have zero tolerance policy for disruptive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour towards staff and/or members.
  • Members are responsible for their belongings and cannot leave their personal items unattended. Library staff is not responsible if any personal belonging goes missing.
  • Library members are responsible for their membership card and must not allow others to use it. Action will be taken against any member whose card is found to be in use by someone else.
  • Smoking is not allowed within the library building; however, there is a designated smoking area outside. Persons under 18 years of age are not permitted to smoke on the library premises.
  • Members are not allowed to move library property (furniture, rugs, tables, chairs, stationery items etc.) or alter the settings for lighting and air-conditioner units. Please contact a library staff member for your needs.
  • Once paid, membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • On your way out, you must check out / borrow all library items in your possession at our self-checkout counter. Action will be taken against anyone found deliberately taking library materials outside without borrowing them first.
  • If an item is lost, stolen, damaged or not returned to the library after a reasonable period of time, the borrower will be charged for the item in accordance with our circulation policy.
  • Lost membership cards must be reported immediately. A replacement card will be issued upon payment of charges for a new card.
  • No material may be distributed or posted within the library without the permission of a library manager.
  • Inappropriate use of IT facilities that breach our policy will result in suspension or termination of membership.
  • The library will not accept responsibility for lost or missing personal items.
  • Members are required to follow the British Council’s security protocols for entry and exit to and from the library premises.
  • Failure to abide by the code of conduct may result in suspension of membership and access to the library without reimbursement.
