When will I get my IELTS exam results?
You won’t have to wait long for your IELTS exam results. Depending on which IELTS test you have taken, you will get your results as shown below:

You can preview your IELTS test results online up to 13 days after the test for paper-based and 2 days after a IELTS on a computer test on the online registration system. However, do take note that you will not be able to use your IELTS online results as an official confirmation of your performance.
When will I get a physical copy of my IELTS test results ?
Although you can view your IELTS result online, you will want a physical copy of your IELTS results too. The Test Report Form (TRF), a paper copy of your IELTS results with your IELTS band score, will be dispatched via courier 13 calendar days after the test for a paper-based and 3 - 5 calendar days for IELTS on a computer test. Please allow at least 7 working days for the delivery (in case of a failed delivery we will contact you for correction/confirmation of address and resend the TRF within these 7 working days)
If you have taken IELTS on a computer, you will receive your results electronically only. You can download the electronic version (eTRF) from the Test Taker portal 3-8 days after your test. We will not issue an additional paper Test Report Form. You can print your electronic Test Report Form (eTRF) to send it to the organisations you are applying to, or you can send it via email. Alternatively, you can send your results directly to the organisation through the Test Taker portal.
IELTS results will not be disclosed over the phone or through email.

How do the institutions I'm applying to get my IELTS Test Results?
We will send your IELTS test results and Test Report Form directly to the institutions you’re applying to. Institutions need original copies of your Test Report Form (TRF). Photocopies are not accepted.
We can send up to five additional copies of your TRF for free, directly to institutions you are applying to (universities, immigration officers, etc). If you would like us to provide this free service to you, please include the relevant addresses when you book your test .
Please give the full postal address of the institution. Without the complete address we are not able to check whether the institution has access to the IELTS Test Report Form Verification Service that allows it to view your results after we have submitted them electronically. In case they do not access this service, we will send your TRF to them by post.
Universities / Institutions that have subscribed to the electronic download of scores will be sent results electronically.
Can I get additional copies of my IELTS results?
Additional Test Result Forms (TRFs) are available to any institution upon request. You have to pay a fee mentioned as in IELTS Pricing policy document available in the download section below, and your IELTS results are only available for up to two years after the date of registration. If a courier service is needed this may also incur additional costs.
You will need to provide the institution’s address and fill in the Application for Additional Test Report Form. We then send the TRF directly to the institution.
An additional TRF takes around 10 days to be processed.
In addition to this, Candidates may request up to two additional TRFs under conditions such as damage or loss. There is a fee for this but no reason or evidence for loss or damage needs to be submitted by the candidate. Submissions for additional TRFs must be made in writing to the IELTS test center, through your Test taker portal. ALso include a copy of the ID document you used on test day and proof you have paid the fee for this service. What do my IELTS test results score mean?
You will be awarded an IELTS band score from 0-9 for each test section, which reflects your proficiency in English.

Your Test Results Form (TRF) shows an individual score for each of the four skills: so you get an IELTS Reading score, IELTS Listening score, IELTS Writing and IELTS Speaking score, as well as an overall IELTS band score. You can score whole band scores (for example 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or half band scores (e.g. 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) in each section of the test.
How to get your IELTS test re-marked?
If you did not receive the IELTS band score you expected, you can apply for your test to be re-marked. This is called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can choose which test sections you want to be re-marked and will need to request this at the test centre where you took your test. You need to apply for a re-marking no later than six weeks after the test date.

Your fee will be refunded if your score is increased for any section of the test.
You can Pay for your EOR in the following ways:
- As a most economical way, you can pay by interbank transfer (IBFT) through Online banking or ATM. Find out the payment process details here.
- You can pay by bank draft (made payable to ‘British Council Pakistan’). Bank Drafts should be sent to our office locations
- You can deposit cash at your local Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) / Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB). Use our bank details to make the payment
You need to apply for a re-marking no later than six weeks after the test date.
The outcome of an Enquiry on Results can become available on the same day as your application and up to 21 days after your application. The time it takes depends on several factors, including the number of sections you have asked us to re-mark. If you have not received a response after 21 days, please contact your test center or reach out to us at info@britishcouncil.org.pk or 0800-22000.
It is not possible to have qualitative feedback on the test or see the test.

There are no restrictions on re-taking IELTS. You can book a test as soon as you feel you are ready to do so.
Please note that your IELTS band score is unlikely to increase unless you make a significant effort to improve your English before re-taking the test. Visit the preparation section to take a practice test and assess your level.
