In this tree-themed lesson from the British Council Teaching English website, the students will find out about each other’s likes and make a tree display for the classroom.
Students write about their likes on a paper leaf and draw the same likes on an apple. They stick these to a tree, then read about each other to complete a matching activity.
The plan suggests the teacher uses this lesson at the start of a course for the students to get to know each other. However, this lesson could be used at any time during a course to re-cycle whatever topic language the class have been studying. In fact, the lesson can be adapted in many ways. If apples aren’t a common fruit in your region, why not have the learners draw on a different fruit?
